If you haven’t been to Toruń yet, it’s time to change that. There is so much to see and so much to do in Toruń! The City, situated on the banks of the Vistula River, has a rich history. It is surrounded by the magnificent ruins of the Teutonic Knights castle, adorned with the Gothic Old Town where each alley hides mysteries and surprises. Nicholas Copernicus, who was born in Toruń, is the brand and the symbol of the city. But Toruń has much more to offer. For example the medieval tradition of baking gingerbread and with us you will have the opportunity to make and bake them yourself at the unusual, interactive Gingerbread Museum. During the tour we will also have a great dinner and option to try gingerbread beer from the craft brewery. And at the end, on your own leisure time, everyone will have the chance to discover other interesting places in the city and buy souvenirs.

Toruń sightseeing will start with the most important monuments of the city. We will visit Nicolaus Copernicus monument, on which has been proudly posing for over 150 years. This monument is one of the most important landmarks in the city but not the only one. Toruń, often called Cracow of the North, is a comfortable city, because it can be walked on foot, picturesque, because the old town is centered on the banks of the Vistula, and the ruins of the Teutonic castle surrounding it adds drama and beauty. We can walk through Main Square, watch the Gothic Town Hall, which, if we believe in legends, has been built in resemblance to the calendar. Just next to the Main Square you can visit the Holy Spirit’s Church and Saint Mary’s Church. If you are a keen photographer, you can enjoy the beauty of the area from the town hall tower and make some memorable pictures. Do not forget to visit the symbolic donkey – the pillory, a monument created on the model of the seventeenth-century donkey. It served to punish rebellious soldiers.
Teutonic Knights Castle
The Teutonic Castle, which is a mandatory point of each tour in these area, were built in the 50s of the 13th century, and were completed almost 100 years later. Historians see the beginning of the thirteen-year war in here. Even if the castle doesn’t remains the one from the past, still it’s an unusual example of the old building. The guide will introduce incredible history of the castle and its settlement and the avid photographers will have the opportunity to photo register the panorama of the Old Town from the perspective of the castle tower.
Live Gingerbread Museum
The program of the tour cannot miss the city symbol: the gingerbread. And nothing is more impressive than the possibility of self-preparation of these delicious, traditional sweets according to old traditional recipes. You will have a chance to do that at the Live Gingerbread Museum – the first such interactive institution in Europe! The attraction of the day will be handmade gingerbread preparation and baking them under the watchful eye of gingerbread masters.
In addition to acquiring the baking skills, under the guidance of a professionals, we will learn the history of gingerbread, find out where it came from and we will look at the first machines for their production.
